Wanderers get lost on the West Coast
The West Coast Sly Rats have continued on with their undefeated streak by accounting for the Old World Wanderers in what turned out to be a tough contest.

The Wanderers hired a couple of stars to join them for the game, Helmut Wolf and Slibli. Both stars adding a lot of starch to the Wanderers roster.

It was the Wanderers to receive first and they were able to make smart progress down the field whilst also removing a good portion of the Sly Rats from the field, if only for a short time.

The Wanderers were well on their way to scoring the first TD of the game before an ill advised pass lead to them no longer being in possession of the ball. The Sly Rats quickly snuck in and sent the ball back up-field and stopping the Wanderers chances of opening the scores.

In the second half the Sly Rats got most of their players back and were able give sufficient cover for the Sly Rats to score relatively untouched.

From the next kick-off the Sly Rats were able to turn the Wanderers over again to take a nearly uncatchable lead of 2-0 with little time remaining in the game.

The Wanderers didn't give up however and they were able to add respectability to the score just before the final siren to end the game at 2-1 in the Sly Rats favour.

Rats Coast past Chenai
The West Coast Sly Rats have continued their undefeated streak with a hard fought win over the Chenai Super Tomb Kings.

The Kings received first and sent Hack Enslash to create some damage against the low armoured Skaven. However he failed to cause any damage with his first attempt with the chainsaw and found death grip him again when hit in return, ending his short lived resurrection.

The Kings were determined however to play an expansive game rather than cage grind against the Sly Rats, getting themselves into a position early to be within scoring range with the ball. However the speed of the Sly Rats brought them undone and they were turned over quickly.

The Sly Rats pushed deep and had ideas of stalling in the backfield. However after being blitzed once and having the Kings forget their Strip Ball skill, the Sly Rats didn't get the chance to stall anymore and had to fight for the ball back, but eventually still managed to score the first TD.

In the second half the Sly Rats were keen to score and score quickly to build up a bigger lead. A Pitch Invasion gave them the convenient gap to shoot as well. With the shake up from the first half still in mind, they didn't stand about and got themselves to a 2-0 lead and ready to see what the Kings had for them.

The Kings were still keen to push for a TD themselves. Like the first half, the Kings used the Hail Mary pass option to get the ball down field, and much like the first half, it saw the ball go to hand, however this time instead of it going to the Diving Catch Skeleton, it went conveniently into the hands of a marked up Tomb Guardian. Unfortunately for the Tomb Guardian, he was marked up by the Rat Ogre who made sure he didn't have the ball too long.

With the ball recovered the Sly Rats had intentions of another TD, but the Kings were able to dismiss any players in scoring position and the game ended at 2-0.

Being Sly proves to be Mightier
The West Coast Sly Rats have played their first game of the WAFFL Open Season 2 by taking on some very capable opponents in the Anaheim Mighty Apes.

The Sly Rats had a rare occasion where they had less fans at the game, which may have had them distracted from the start when they were preparing to receive for the first time at the kick-off as the Apes were able to get the jump on them and Blitz their way into the backfield. This put the Apes right under where the ball was to land, which they caught with ease.

Taken by surprise by this, the Sly Rats didn't react well and were unable to even get a hit onto the ball carrier. this resulted in the Apes being able to score in their first turn.

The Sly Rats woke up much quicker from their though and were able to score easily enough to get themselves back to even.

The Sly Rats took advantage of their fans getting excited and were able to get back at the Apes by getting a Blitz of their own in. Whilst they weren't able to score exactly straight away, the Apes struggled to pick-up the ball and the Sly Rats were able to get the go ahead TD.

From here the Apes showed how competent they were at scoring as well by getting themselves down field to score an equalising TD.

However the Sly Rats had one turn before the half time break and called upon their specialist Gutter Runner for these situations. With a small gap made, the Sly Rats were able to score the OTTD and lead at half time 3-2.

In the second half the Apes again showed they were very worthy opponents and were able to get an equalising TD.

The Sly Rats from here once again received the kick-off and were able to get themselves into a comfortable position where they were able to get some passing practice in. However the passing practice didn't go as planned which meant the Apes were in with a chance, be it a tough chance to come away with an unlikely win themselves.

The Sly Rats were able to pull themselves together though before the end of the game and were able to score the game winning TD in the last turn to seal a hard fought 4-3 win.

Sly Rats find the ball DeepUnder
The West Coast Sly Rats found their inability to use the ball the big let down of their most recent game against the DeepUnder Outrats.

The Sly Rats started the game in a vicious mode by killing an opponent with their second block of the game and by continuing the trend with 5 casualties throughout the match, 2 being kills.

But whilst they were able to bash their opponents efficiently, their ball handling skills let them down and removed opportunities they had for scoring.

From a fumbled pass in the second turn, the Sly Rats then found themselves fighting for possession of the ball. Whilst being able to successfully turn over the ball numerous times, they were unable to handle the ball from the turnovers and found themselves unable to take advantage.

In the second half the Sly Rats were again successful in causing the turnover, but an unsuccessful Block which could have opened up the game in their favour, instead turned the game into the favour of the Outrats who were able to get the go ahead score.

The crowd has Rioted from this score and ensured the Sly Rats had less time to equalise or even go ahead.

A Sprinkler Malfunction has also caused the Sly Rats trouble late in the game, the Sly Rats had finally sorted out their handling problems, but evidently did not help their footing skills with the OTTD opportunity cut short when a Gutter Runner tripped over.

The Sly Rats did manage to recover though to equalise, but ran out of time to get the go ahead TD and had to settle with a slightly disappointing draw at 1-1.
