Journie started her career as a benchwarmer for the Esperance U15s, but repeated refusal to put her on the field made her take the trek up to Kalgoorlie when they were short of players- desperate times call for desperate measures.

She wildly impressed on the field and was quickly hired on the spot. Rumours she failed to help one of her teammates to ensure there was a spot free is surely just jealous whispers, right?
